Electric Guitar Lessons in Wilson

Teacher

Daniel Wilson

Guitar, Piano

Daniel’s music career began to take-off with a passion for songwriting, with guitar being a vessel to do so. He then began to study music (starting at Leederville TAFE) to get a deeper musical understanding and dive right into Perth’s music scene. An interest in improvisation and complex harmony took his studies to WAAPA’s jazz program where he is currently a second year. Now, Daniel is performing original songs, swinging jazz standards and sharing his musical knowledge with a wide range of students.

Gabriel Barros

Drum Specialist

Hi there! I'm Gabriel. I've been a drummer for 8 years and I've done multiple performances inside and outside of school, won several awards and am now looking to start teaching others the same passion I have for music and drums. My typical style sounds like System of a Down, Muse, Green Day, Mother Mother, Nirvana and Foo Fighters. I love faster-paced songs where you can really give it your all and have the most fun playing while showing of your skill! Whether you're learning a new hobby or refining your skills to learn a new song, or preparing for a performance i'm ready to guide and support you on your musical journey, wherever you decide to go!

Teacher

Joseph Whitehorn

Drum Specialist

Joseph picked up the sticks from a very young age and has been drumming ever since. Although a big fan of music in general, he particularly enjoys Jazz and Blues and has played professionally with many notable Jazz and Blues musicians in Perth. Whilst at WAAPA he studied Jazz and honed his technique on the drum kit. He has written a thesis on the relationship between tap dance and Jazz drumming and its historical significance. He currently plays in a rockabilly blues band and in his spare time, he likes collecting vintage cymbals. His favorite drummer is Gene Krupa.
